Alien Skin Software has announced the upcoming release of an update to its Exposure software, while Corel has released Painter 12.1
Alien Skin Software has announced Exposure 4, a new version of its image effects plug-in for Photoshop. A completely redesigned interface has been added with the latest release, along with new controls for exploring a range of effects or creating custom presets. Black & White and Color Film have also been combined into a single filter, and a new text search feature allows users to easily search for filters. Exposure 4 is expected to be released in February at a cost of $250. However, current Exposure customers will be able to purchase an upgrade license for $99.
Corel Painter 12 receives free update
A free update for Corel Painter 12 that includes new brush sharing and management options, workspace management, and Photoshop plug-in support has been released. The v12.1 release provides an enhanced Live Brush Stroke Preview that allows users to view and select brush attributes on the fly, as well as an updated Color Mixer Palette with support for importing a color collection as a RIFF, PSD, JPG, PNG or TIFF. The free update can be downloaded from Corel's website, while full and upgrade licenses for Painter 12 are currently on sale for $279 and $149 respectively.
