Videos hit YouTube for new Lumia phone crop

Nokia has begun promoting its two newest smartphones, the Lumia 900 and Lumia 710. Both phones, Nokia's first with Microsoft's Windows Phone OS, are featured on YouTube videos. Nokia has already started pushing the Lumia 710 with the same video as a 30-second TV spot.

The video for the Lumia 900 highlights the phone's LTE capabilities and how that helps browsing and streaming. It also mentions a big screen, but does not indicated that the display is a sizable 4.3 inches. It highlights the phone's polycarbonate unibody design, but then ties it in not with durability, but with better reception. The ad does talk about the Lumia 900's eight-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. Most OS and other technical details are absent.

The ad does, however, mention that a "Purity by Monster" headset is an optional accessory. Nokia doesn't make any mention that the phone will be available on AT&T, hinting at possible international releases. The US carrier is expected to begin selling the Lumia 900 in March.

The video for the Lumia 710 is also short in technical details. It focuses instead on the phone being the "smarter" smartphone and follows up by highlighting the phone's social networking capabilities through Windows Phone's People Hub and then demonstrating its search capabilities. It concludes with a reference to the phone being available exclusively through T-Mobile, which began selling the phone on Wednesday for $50 with a two-year contract (after a $50 mail-in rebate).
