New monitor to be displayed at CES
Samsung has introduced a high-end display, labeled the Series 9 monitor, that will be displayed next week at CES in Las Vegas. The panel appears to be aimed at Apple's Thunderbolt Display and similar monitors, matching the 27-inch panel size and 2560x1440 resolution.
The monitor also features "Plane Line Switching" (PLS), which is said to offer similar benefits to IPS panels by extending the viewing angles. The anti-glare display is also said to be capable of presenting billions of colors, while enabling users to connect mobile devices through MHL.
The Series 9 monitor is expected to ship in March for $1,200.
