Savings up to 75 percent

Two more Mac-centric companies have announced post-holiday deals, including a games bundle at 75 percent off the retail price and a half-off sale for an entire store. MacGameStore is offering its Best Mac Games Bundle Ever featuring 10 games for $20 through January 7th, while Mariner Software is taking 50 percent off all purchases in its store until the end of 2011. The Mariner offer includes reductions on its own bundles and standalone software for Mac and Windows.

The games in the MacGameStore bundle are all Intel-only (Mac OS X 10.6 or higher) and include many of the top titles of 2011 such as Trine, The Tiny Bang Story, Trauma, Cities in Motion, Roads of Rome 2, Jewel Quest Mysteries: The Seventh Gate, Glowfish, OIO, Puzzler World and The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition (a remake of the original 1990 LucasArts classic). The collection would normally retail for just under $85. System requirements for each game vary, and thus some games may not be playable on all Intel Mac systems.

Mariner Software has an end-of-year 50 percent off sale on all its products, including its own Mariner Write (word processing) and Mariner Calc (spreadsheet) programs, as well as its other tools for writers, such as StoryMill (aimed at helping fiction writers organize and build their stories), Montage (screenwriting), Contour (script and story brainstorming), and MacJournal/WinJournal (journaling software for either Mac or Windows). The sale also includes Desktop Poet (a virtual "fridge magnet" word-association game), Narrator (which converts any text to speech files that can be played or synced to audio devices), MacGourmet Deluxe (recipe manager) and Paperless (a digital document manager).

In addition to WinJournal, Desktop Poet, Contour and Paperless are all also available in Windows versions at the sale price. The company is also discounting its normal bundles, such as the combo of Mariner Write and Mariner Calc for $40 (normally $80) or the Mariner Writer's Suite which includes seven of the company's tools for writers for $125 (normally $250). Users simply add discount code EY2011 when placing their order to receive the discount. The sale does not include any of the company's iOS apps. The offer ends at 11:59 p.m. Central time on December 31st.
