Wicked Audio to debut Solus headphones at CES 2012

updated 10:30 pm EST, Wed December 28, 2011

Features 'DJ switch,' new packaging design

Empire Brands, the parent company of Wicked Audio and its line of fashion headphones, will debut a new line dubbed "Solus" (which, contrary to the company's claims, is Latin for "alone" or "solitary") at CES 2012 in Las Vegas next month. The new headphones feature a thick braided cable for durability and a special "DJ switch" that mixes the stereo signal into one ear for DJ queuing and controls volume.

The specs for the earphones are the standard 20-20,000Hz at 32 ohms, with 40mm drivers and 106dB max output, a volume level just shy of the amount of sound one might hear at a live rock concert in close quarters. The Solus is the first product to feature the company's new 2012 packaging, and will be available in January for $100.

The Solus headphones and other Wicked Audio products will be available for demonstration at booth 9844 in the central hall during CES, which will run from January 10th through the 13th at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
