Lenovo confirms Internet TV plans, own cloud service

Lenovo dips into Internet TV and cloud early

Lenovo gave a preview of its Las Vegas plans with word of an Internet-aware TV and its own cloud service. To be called the LeTV in its Chinese version, it would ship sometime in the first quarter of 2012. Most details aren't public, although more of these should be coming in January.

The PC builder's cloud service tease drew parallels to iCloud. It too would synchronize information between devices, Lenovo said. Its version will have a capacity advantage, however, with 200GB of storage per person. Apple gives away 5GB for free but charges extra for more, and doesn't offer 200GB.

Lenovo has been on the rise and is now the second-largest computer maker worldwide, having ousted Acer and Dell. All of its current efforts, however, are focused either on traditional PCs or on its young smartphone and tablet lines. A TV would pit it against both a wave of Google TV-powered sets expected at CES as well as give it a distinct cloud option that would set it apart from its Windows PC counterparts.

Yep Apple only gives you 5 gig for free... plus a copy of all your iTunes music FOR FREE, and your non iTunes music for $25 per year....

Funny how places keep forgetting the facts just to make a slanted article. Wonder what else they forgot to print. ????
    Just a thought
