Pure Contour 200i-Air iOS dock reaches FCC with AirPlay

Pure next up with AirPlay through new Contour

A new FCC filing has given out Pure's plans to make its own AirPlay dock. The oval-shaped Contour 200i-Air takes the existing Contour and adds in the requisite Wi-Fi and companion hardware to take audio from iPads, iPhones, and iPod touch players on the local network. It's not clear if it will keep the Wi-Fi Internet radio features of its ancestor.

The speaker system is otherwise minimalist and carries a slide-out Dock Connector for iOS devices. Pure hasn't given clues as to when the dock will ship. A number of iOS accessory makers are saving releases for CES in mid-January, making it the strongest candidate for an introduction. [via Engadget]
