Stitcher has added a new double-speed playback option to its iOS internet radio app, while Pinger has launched a new calling services app with free voicemail
Stitcher has updated its iOS radio app to introduce a double-speed playback option. The free application delivers all of a user's favourite radio programs and podcasts directly to an iOS device without the need to sync. Included broadcasts cover the latest in news, sports, talk, entertainment, and more. Support for staying connected to car accessories while the app is running in the background is also included with this release, along with the option to listen to custom stations in Ford SYNC AppLing and Buick IntelliLink enabled vehicles.
Pinger launches new iOS app with free voicemail
Pinger has launched a new iOS app that provides users with free texting and calling services. The free Pinger Textfree Voice + VM app allows users to send and receive unlimited text and picture messages, receive unlimited inbound calls, and earn or purchase minutes to make outbound calls. In addition, a free voicemail account is provided, along with Bluetooth and Facebook Chat support. Existing customers are able to port their Pinger phone number to the new app, while new customers can sign up for a free number.

2X too fast
I've talked with them about this. 2X may be OK for ballgames but it is too fast for most podcasts. 1.25x and 1.5x make more sense. Sorry to hear they've still not added that option.
