HP Envy 14 Spectre pops up at FCC

updated 12:15 pm EST, Thu December 22, 2011

HP Envy 14 Spectre makes first appearance at FCC

HP will release an updated version of its Envy 14 notebooks, if a recent FCC filing is any indication. Called the Envy 14 Spectre, it has dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi. Other specs aren't yet available, though the product's technical drawings show new vents and labels.

What's not seen in the drawings is a slot for the add-on slice battery. The new notebook should also sport Intel's Ivy Bridge processors, the first to use a smaller, faster 22 nanometer architecture.

An FCC listing isn't a guarantee that products will launch in North America, though it is a strong indication, as HP rarely offers systems it doesn't sell in the US. [via Wireless Goodness]
