Galaxy Tab 7.7 reaches FCC with LTE 4G for Verizon

updated 07:00 pm EST, Fri December 16, 2011

Galaxy Tab 7.7 in FCC has Verizon 4G bands

Following its appearance in Verizon's system, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 with LTE has surfaced at the FCC. The Super AMOLED-equipped tablet has gone through testing on the 700MHz band for its 4G, the same Verizon uses on its network. It also uses only CDMA as a fall-back and rules out the chance that it's a GSM version for AT&T or other carriers.

The Tab 7.7's filing doesn't give clues as to the release date, although approval means it could be just weeks away.

Although very close to the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, the Tab 7.7 has a more vivid Super AMOLED Plus screen that also helps slim the tablet down to under 0.3 inches. It still stands as one of the quicker tablets on the market, including a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, and carries the same front and back cameras as its larger cousins. [via Wireless Goodness]
