Swype must first fix screen resolution issuue

Netflix has released an update for its Android app, providing support for 4.x Android devices (free, Android Market). The timing of the new version is synchronized with the first shipments in the US of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Most of the changes are to accommodate the lack of hardware navigation buttons.

Another developer, Swype, has meanwhile tweeted that support for Android 4.0 devices will have to wait.

The Swype app uses a proprietary input algorithm with predictive tapping capabilities to speed up text entry on a virtual touchscreen keyboards. With it, the company claims that even inexperienced smartphone users can enter text at 40 or more words per minute. in its post, Swype identified a problem with how Android 4.0 reports screen resolution. Swype is working on a fix, but until then, its custom keyboard won't run.
