Huawei gives Android 4 to Honor, Archos teases

French tablet maker Archos has just announced that it will bring Android 4.0 to its existing G9 tablets. All will be upgraded to Android 4.0 during the first quarter of 2012, the company promised. The devices are powered by a dual-core, 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, with prices starting at 350 euros (about $460).

At the same time, Chinese phone and portable device maker Huawei has began rolling out an early version of the Android 4.0 update for its Honor smartphone, known simply as the U8860 in China. The update was issued less than a month after the source code was officially released. The support page for the handset now has the "demo" build of the update, which is available in simplified Chinese and the other standard suite of languages in the Android pack.
