Chronos launches SOHO Labels 6, adds layers, more

Gains Lion full-screen, iPhoto browsing support


Chronos as released SOHO Labels 6, a new version the company describes as a major upgrade to its labelling software for Macs. Included in the new version is support for Layers with an integrated pane, changes to make it easier to find image files no matter where they are located, support for over 1,000 new label formats, custom page sizes for labels, customizable reflections, improved project wizards and full-screen support in Lion.

SOHO Labels allows users to create labels, envelopes and letterhead designs either using one of the hundreds of includes templates or from scratch. It is supplied with a 1.7GB library of artwork and users can also employ their own images, particularly now that version 6 adds support for Aperture and iPhoto libraries as well as Finder folders of images and even supports searching iPhoto events by name, keyword, date or rating.

The program comes with matching collections of label, envelope and letterhead sets as well as over 100 "super-masks" for customization. The program is now compatible with over 2,500 label types, includes CD/DVD labels and envelope stocks from all the major-name label paper makers.

Version 6 also adds support for label fold lines, the ability to put reflections on graphics, shapes or text boxes, and an improved project wizard that automatically shows supported printer models for various media stocks when available. The new version costs $40 and is available directly from Chronos. Previous users of any version can upgrade to v6 for $25. A family pack is also available for $70, and a 30-day unrestricted trial version is also available. SOHO Labels requires an Intel Mac running OS X 10.6 or higher.
