AMD details seven new A-Series CPUs for notebooks

AMD replaces seven notebook CPUs with faster ones

Chipmaker AMD has replaced seven of its A-series CPUs for notebooks. The differences aren't major, as they basically amount to 100MHz faster base and Turbo processor speeds for all but one of the chips, Hardcore Hardware found after noticing the quiet update.

The new APUs include the A8-3550MX, A8-3520M, A6-3430MX, A6-3420M, A4-330MX, A4-3320M and A4-3305M. The last chip retains the same 2.5GHz frequency as the A4-3300M it replaces and also halves the cache to 1MB while sporting a less powerful onboard graphics core. AMD instead bumped up the core vide frequency from 444MHz to 593MHz.

The new chips are outlined in red in the table below and should filter their way into systems in the next few weeks and months.
