Batman: Arkham City Lockdown now available for iOS

updated 02:00 am EST, Thu December 8, 2011

Stripped-down version of Arkham City

Arkham City Lockdown, a combat-oriented basic version of the console and desktop game Arkham City for iOS devices (iPhone 3GS or later, iPod Touch 3rd generation or later, iPad and iPad 2), is now available in the US iTunes App Store after having been spotted in the New Zealand store earlier today. Players take the role of Batman fighting various nemesis who have escaped from Arkham Asylum with Infinity Blade-style graphics.

The game uses the same Unreal Engine as Infinity Blade and uses similar gestures to dodge, parry and attack. Experience points can be used to increase player stats or to purchase bat-gadgets that can help the player. Players can also choose to spend actual money on in-app purchases to achieve points.

The game also includes a boss level not seen in any other Arkham version, called Deathstroke, along with a comic viewer, character biographies, unlockable achievements, exclusive wallpapers, Game Center support and a high-quality music and voice acting. One in-app purchase option allows players to use alternative costumes such as the animated series Batman rather than the traditional outfit.

Batman: Arkham City Lockdown is now available and sells for $6. It requires iOS 3.1.3 or higher.

    Yeah,

Too bad the gameplay doesn't look anything like that. The publisher did a great job hiding what the iOS graphics REALLY look like.
