Investment spread across three years
Everything Everywhere has announced that its T-Mobile and Orange brands in the UK will soon benefit from approximately £1.5 billion (~$2.3 billion USD) in network investments. The funds are said to be primarily allocated for building an extensive 4G LTE network that will be available for subscribers from both carriers.
T-Mobile UK and Orange are also set to accelerate plans to integrate their existing 2G and 3G networks. When finished, the combined network is said to bring the broadest 3G coverage in the UK.
Everything Everywhere plans to continue to improve the cross-network system, which will eventually enable handsets to automatically select the strongest signal from either network if the signal from the home network is weak.
The large investment will be spread across the next three years. The company has yet to announce a time-frame for LTE rollout in various areas.
