AT&T enables parents to monitor sensor-equipped baby pajamas

Exmobaby PJs integrate cellular transmitter

AT&T has announced that it will provide wireless service for Exmovere's Exmobaby pajamas, which bring a unique twist on baby monitoring. The pajamas integrate a number of sensors, tracking an infant's vital signs, such as heart rate and skin temperature, along with environmental factors including humidity and movement.

The sensors connect to a transmitter that takes advantage of AT&T's network to send data to the parent's computer, tablet or smartphone. The information is designed to provide continuous monitoring and alerts when the sensor data suggests the child is in need of care, though the company cautions it is not designed for medical diagnosis.

The Exmobaby pajamas are currently available in sizes for infants up to 12 months old, with prices starting at $1000. The package includes the pajamas, transmitter, monitoring software and six months of connected service.
