Would put Apple in rich shopping district
Apple has narrowed down a location for its first Swedish store, sources claim. The address is believed to be Hamngatan 15, located within a rich shopping district in downtown Stockholm. The seven-story building dates back to 1881 but was recently renovated by a new owner following its use as a department store.
The shop is situated in a plaza with a high degree of foot traffic. In all Apple should have access to 2,000 square feet of ground level space, flanked by 12-foot ceilings. Another 1,400 square feet is available in the basement; the upper floors of the building are currently reserved for offices, and might theoretically play home to Apple Sweden. The company currently has no retail presence in any part of Scandinavia, but has filed documents to get the ball rolling.
