AT&T rolling out LTE coverage in New York City?

Users report new 4G connectivity

AT&T is reportedly quietly rolling out its LTE network in certain areas around New York City, though the move has yet to be officially confirmed. Attendees at LG's special event, where the Nitro HD was unveiled, are said to have noticed that the prerelease devices were able to connect to AT&T's LTE network.

The company recently promised to activate its 4G infrastructure in New York City in the near future, however the announcement was not paired with a specific launch date. It is unclear if the LTE support was limited to the devices on hand at the Nitro event, a temporary activation to coincide with the demo, or an early rollout for all customers in the local area.

AT&T also offers the HTC Vivid, Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 8.9, which work on the carrier's LTE networks in a variety of cities. Recent additions include Charlotte, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Indianapolis and San Juan, Puerto Rico. [via TechCrunch]
