South Africa's Vodacom confirms iPhone 4S for Dec. 16th

updated 12:20 pm EST, Thu December 1, 2011

Plans range between R249 and R925 per month

The South African branch of Vodacom is launching the iPhone 4S on December 16th, a Twitter post confirms. People interested in buying the device can visit a registration page to leave their name, phone number, upgrade status, and desired model. Vodacom cautions, though, that the form is "no guarantee" that a person will get a 4S, as "stocks are extremely limited" and a person's credit needs to be checked.

The carrier offers four iPhone plans ranging in cost from R249 to R925 per month. The base option includes just 120 off-peak minutes, 250MB of data, and 50 texts. The most expensive plan still grants only 500 minutes, 500MB of data and 100 texts.
