Windows Phone devices to follow Android offerings

Just days after Lenovo unveiled several new Android-based smartphones, the company has reportedly confirmed plans to expand its lineup with Windows Phone handsets. One of the company's product managers, Chen Yue, acknowledged that images showing the S2 handset running Windows Phone 7 are genuine, as the company is already developing devices that take advantage of Microsoft's mobile platform.

The current S2 pairs Android with a 3.8-inch 800x480 display and a single-core Qualcomm processor that runs at 1.4GHz. The basic model brings 512MB of RAM and 8GB of integrated storage, while a higher-end model steps up to 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

Lenovo expects its first Windows Phone handsets to arrive in the second half of 2012. [via iMobile]
