HTC's Android 4.0-running Ville spotted in early press shot

updated 06:50 pm EST, Fri November 25, 2011

HTC Ville gets more concrete design look

HTC's Ville was given a more definitive look in a press shot uncovered Friday. The design spotted by PocketNow lines up with earlier talk of an extra-thin 0.31-inch body. To get there, HTC now appears to be using an aluminum design not unlike the one for the Sensation or other high-end models. No physical navigation buttons are on show, supporting talk that it's designed for Android 4.0's all-touchscreen controls from the start.

No new hardware details have emerged, but it should occupy the new mid-range with features still considered high-end today. Its signature would be a unique "wraparound" 4.3-inch, 540x960 Super AMOLED display that both leads to the thin body and keeps the bezel narrow. A dual-core, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 and the most recent incarnation of HTC's eight-megapixel, 1080p-capable camera hardware would arrive as well.

Past tips have had the phone unveiled at the Mobile World Congress trade show in late February, followed by a launch in April. Europe and Asia would most likely get it first, followed by North American editions.
