Grand Central Apple Store gets pre-launch ticker display

updated 11:00 am EST, Wed November 23, 2011

Outlet closer to launch, may still take time

The still-unopened Grand Central Terminal Apple Store has gained a new display advertising its imminent opening, photos and video show. Unlike most similar displays by Apple, the one for Grand Central uses a series of screens, designed to resemble the flipping tiles the station used to rely on for timetables. "Apple Store, Grand Central. Arriving soon," the ticker's main message says.

The message changes, for example advertising workshops. Apple has, however, yet to give a firm date for when the shop will open. A debut had originally been expected by Black Friday, but construction workers have suggested that the shop won't be ready until December.

    Keep it

They probably won't, but it would be great if they could find a way to present something at the store with that type of signage after the opening. The person who captured that video obviously didn't have an iPhone 4s with auto-stabilization :)
