IconSettings 2.0 gives quicker access to iOS system settings

Skips need for jailbreaking

A web-based technique created by iPhoneZA allows quicker access to system settings on the iOS homescreen without jailbreaking, reports note. IconSettings 2.0 installs a customizable series of icons that allow for faster toggling of options like Bluetooth, brightness control or Airplane mode. The arrangement is similar to SBSettings, used on jailbroken devices.

The iPhoneZA technique revolves around a special webpage that users visit from Safari in iOS. The page displays a collection of links representing different controls. Tapping one, hitting Cancel, but then using the Add to Home Screen option installs a shortcut that makes appropriate changes in the native iOS Settings app. The v2.0 update, critically, makes the scheme practical, since it no longer requires an Internet connection beyond adding controls.
