iTunes 10.5.1 beta 3 preps for cloud music

Apple late Saturday gave developers a third beta of iTunes 10.5.1. Beta 3 primarily adds "important stability and performance improvements" for iTunes Match, according to developers who've downloaded the update. The company is encouraging developers to turn iTunes Match on, if they've subscribed, for all their computers and iOS devices.

The upgrade comes just hours after a possibly final iTunes Match library reset. It may indicate that Apple wants to test a last set of changes with developers before the cloud music service goes live for the public.

Apple had originally promised that iTunes Match would be ready for the US by the end of October, but it has delayed the launch for at least two weeks as it irons out final bugs.
