iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 arrives to fix flaws
Apple quickly reacted to iOS 5.0.1 beta problems on Friday by posting beta 2 of the release in the developer center. The update didn't come with any immediate clues as to whether or not it was meant solely to resolve the activation problems or if it solved other issues as well. It can apply either through an iTunes sync or over the air.
The 5.0.1 release is intended primarily to fix battery issues that some, though not all, users have reported since either upgrading to iOS 5 or buying a phone with it pre-installed. Apple hasn't identified the exact cause, although some suspect it's the result of a flawed contact cloud sync, location-based time zone settings, or a number of other as yet unverified symptoms.
