Bell announces LG Optimus LTE as exclusive

Bell has confirmed that it will have an 'exclusive' on the LG Optimus LTE. Already released in South Korea, it will be the first foreign carrier to sell LG's latest Android flagship phone. It centers on a large 4.5-inch 720p-capable IPS display and is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor matched with 1GB of RAM. The company has created a sign-up page for interested customers.

Although running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and thus incapable of fully utilizing its dual-core processor until it gets an Ice Cream Sandwich update, it will be able to take full advantage of the fast 75Mbps theoretical downstream speeds offered on Bell's LTE network. Bell says that users can expect real-world speeds of 12-25Mbps in practice.

Helping to round out the impressive specifications of the device is a 8-megpixel rear camera with LED flash that can shoot video in 1080p. These can then be shared easily with TVs or computers using DLNA or MHL connectivity.

Internal memory is 10GB, but this is expandable by using the built-in microSD slot.
