Bloomberg TV+ for iPad offers free live TV feed

updated 01:05 pm EDT, Thu October 27, 2011

No subscription required

Business news agency Bloomberg has launched a new iPad app, Bloomberg TV+. The app's core feature is access to a 24-hour live feed of Bloomberg Television. Notably the access is free, unlike a number of similar iPad apps, which require subscriptions in order to view live feeds.

Users can set program reminders, and get content on people, businesses and topics while video plays. A news ticker can be customized to display specific information. The app also provides access to collections of on-demand videos, such as ones for top news stories, stories from the last 24 hours, and some of the shows hosted on the network like Charlie Rose, Tech Stars and Bloomberg Rewind. Individual clips can be saved for offline viewing.

Bloomberg is also promising original mobile-only content. In all cases, links to clips can be shared via Twitter, Facebook, or email. iPads must be running iOS 4.2 or better.
