Linux adds support for Nintendo Wii remote, NFC

Finally released after 10 RC iterations

Linux 3.1 has progressed from a release candidate to a stable version . Linux's creator, Linus Torvalds, after 10 earlier candidates, has finally frozen the OS and made it available for download (free, GIT version). Key features of the latest version include support for NFC chips and Wii Controllers.

Additional features include support for OpenRISC opensource CPUs and Intel Cedar Trail processors. Ivy Bridge and GMA500 support has also been improved. Power and memory management have been enhanced. New drivers for NICs, sound cards and iSCSI devices have been added. [via Softpedia]
