Razer Synapse 2 lets gamers sync custom controller settings

Synapse 2.0 brings custom settings to the cloud

Gaming peripherals maker Razer has just detailed Synapse 2.0, its app for storing device settings in the cloud. This will allow gamers to access their customized button layouts, macros, and more personalized settings from any web-connected gaming rig. Onboard device memory, such as the original Synapse, will be made obsolete with Synapse 2.0.

Razer Synapse 2.0 will be compatible with all next-generation Razer accessories. Users won't need to own the hardware, giving them the option of loading settings onto gear provided by a LAN tournament host or a friend, for example. At the very least, this will save time.

The app also automatically downloads the latest drivers, game add-ons and firmware updates as soon as they are released so that hardware is always up to date.

The software is currently in an internal beta development stage, but will roll out to a closed group of 500 Razer Naga gaming mouse owners.
