Microsoft shows ATT Windows Phones

Microsoft's Andy Lees used the AsiaD conference to show off the finished versions of AT&T's Windows Phone 7.5 roster. Its headliner and completely new model, the Focus S, looks like what Electronista and others saw before with the same 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen and 8.6mm profile as the Galaxy S II, just with a 1.4GHz single-core Snapdragon and a 1.3-megapixel front camera instead of the two of the Android phone. The phone won't necessarily perform slower in practice due to WP7's light demand.

The Focus Flash is a nearly one-for-one port of the Omnia W. It keeps the 3.7-inch regular Super AMOLED and reduced five-megapixel rear camera while preserving the 1.4GHz chip and front 1.3-megapixel camera.

Least surprising but the most powerful of the mix is the HTC Titan we tried just last week. Its centerpiece is a massive 4.7-inch display and a quicker 1.5GHz, though still single-core, Snapdragon processor. An eight-megapixel rear camera and a front 1.3-megapixel camera remain intact.

Every phone will get a light touch from AT&T, whose main addition is the U-verse Mobile DVR and streaming video app.

Neither Microsoft nor AT&T gave away when the phones would ship, although they're likely to be imminent. Microsoft's mobile president Andy Lees did mention that Nokia would show more than one Windows Phone next week at Nokia World which could synchronize with AT&T's own plans.
