DODOcase upgrades iPad 2 cases with auto on/off, monograms

updated 02:30 pm EDT, Tue October 18, 2011

Monogram option costs $10 extra

DODOcase has upgraded its popular iPad 2 case with two new features. All versions of the case are firstly being equipped with magnets, in response to public demand, the company says. As with the Apple Smart Cover and other similar products, the new DODOcase magnets turn an iPad 2 on and off automatically when using the lid.

Buyers can now also get a DODOcase monogrammed. The option is limited to three characters, and costs $10. People must pay for the service when buying a case.

Also new is another variant of the case's basic design, the Morris Lessmore. The accessory is a collaboration with MoonBot, and based on The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. It uses a faux red leather exterior, and sports Lessmore's hat and cane embossed on the front. It costs $65, as opposed to a regular DODOcase's $60.
