RIM posts Bold 9790, Curve 9380 details early for developers

RIM gives devs screen details on new Bold, Curve

RIM has revealed some basic display specs of its upcoming BlackBerry Curve 9380 and Bold 9790 to developers so they can get a head start on developing apps for the devices. Both smartphones will run on the BlackBerry 7 OS, N4BB reported. The Curve 9380's 3.2-inch screen will have a screen resolution of 480x360, just like the Torch 9800.

A previous report has the device also getting an 800MHz processor, a five-megapixel camera with 720p video capture, 1GB of built-in memory, and an NFC radio.

The Bold 9790, meanwhile, is due to get a 2.4-inch, 480x360-pixel touchscreen with a keyboard interface. Developers with apps for the Bold 9700 will need to add touch support to them, while Torch 9800 codes will be required to account for its vertical landscape orientation.

Otherwise, the handset is expected to sport a five-megapixel camera, 8GB of built-in storage, NFC, and share the 1.2GHz processor from the Bold 9900.

Both phones could be unveiled as soon as BlackBerry DevCon, which starts Tuesday.
