iPhone 4S pricing, pre-orders go live in Canada
Many Canadian wireless providers have began offering the newly announced iPhone 4S for pre-orders. We've summarized the prices for the various capacity models at each. The device is available in either black or white at all, and the prices are in Canadian dollars.
Telus offers the 16GB model for $159, the 32GB at $259 and the 64GB at $359, all on a three-year contract and a minimum $50 per month plan. Bell's offering is identical, though the features and details of the $50 plans may differ. It also adds the option to buy the phone contract-free but locked, with the 16GB version the same price as at Apple, at $649, but the 32GB and 64GB models adding $20, at $769 and $869, respectively.
Virgin has the same prices for a three-year, $50-per-month data plan or its SuperTab plans, with 10 percent of a user's monthly bill going to subsidize the handset. There are also contract-free prices, with the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models priced at $649, $769 and $869, respectively.
Rogers and Fido have identical deals, with the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4S' costing $159, $259 and $359, respectively on three-year terms. Contract-free prices mirror those of the others, at $649, $769 and $869, respectively. Current customers are urged to use the online Reservation System, with more details available here. A $40 plus tax, refundable reservation fee applies, however.
Koodoo Mobile will skip pre-orders and just start selling the iPhone 4S on October 14. MTS and SaskTel are not yet releasing the device. Best Buy and Future Shop, while not providers, will offer pre-orders sometime soon.
The Apple Store already revealed the pricing scheme for the unlocked devices, which cost slightly less and can be used on any carrier with the right micro SIM card.
