Galaxy Nexus may have super-fast camera, notifier light

Galaxy Nexus may get fast-start camera and more

Some of the finer details of the Galaxy Nexus may have emerged shortly before its appearance. A new claim Thursday noted that the five-megapixel camera would have an unusual emphasis on speed. The device has an "almost instant shutter," Droid-Life was told, putting it on a par with the fast if higher resolution iPhone 4S.

The Android 4 class leader might also get a notification light, something that has shown on HTC and Motorola phones but which hasn't been seen on Samsung devices. A possible move to software-only navigation buttons might create an unusual twist where the light is on the chin, not the usual top corner.

Google is possibly rushing the release of Android 4 and pushing updates to the OS "almost daily," the tipster said. These have improved the responsiveness but could see the release timing cut very close. The software should be completely stock and is known to both bring in Android 3-era multitasking and app switching, an iPhone-style app tray, and camera launching from the lock screen.

Although disputes exist over clock speeds still exist, the Galaxy Nexus should have a dual-core TI OMAP processor, a 4.65-inch, 720p screen, and LTE when the carrier allows.
