Sprint confirms unlimited data for iPhone 4S

Should give carrier edge over AT&T, Verizon

Sprint will indeed offer unlimited data for the iPhone 4S, a spokesperson has confirmed. Michelle Mermelstein states that the company is not altering its smartphone data plans, which are priced between $70 and $100 a month. Previously observers had worried that Sprint would follow in the steps of AT&T and Verizon, which have imposed transfer caps on their customers to mitigate iPhone traffic. The 4S will launch with all three carriers on October 14th, following a round of pre-orders beginning on the 7th.

The decision to keep unlimited data is thought to be aimed squarely at Sprint's rivals. AT&T has countered the arrival of Sprint by saying it will support faster 3G speeds via HSPA, while Verizon has taken the approach of trumpeting superior network quality. It remains to be gauged how many people are willing to switch carriers solely for liberal data options.

    Other reasons to leave AT&T

I am leaving AT&T for other reasons specifically AT&T's lobbying to eliminate public research networks as in this story.

With that hideously slow network, I'd probably die laughing if it WASNT unlimited. I dont think its possible for any human being to get more than 1 gig racked up anyway, its just way too slow, so it makes perfect sense to have unlimited data. At "an average 400-700kbps" DSL is faster! No thanks, I'll stick with my AT&T and its almost 5mbps down speed...
