Droid RAZR gets benchmarked, MotorolaRAZR.com acquired

updated 12:35 pm EDT, Mon October 3, 2011

Droid RAZR at Nenamark, RAZR domain bought

The upcoming Droid RAZR/Droid HD/Motorola Spyder just received some benchmark tests administered by Nenamark. Other than the numbers, the listing confirms the phone will ship with a 960x540 touchscreen and get a 1.2GHz, dual-core TI OMAP4430 processor. Verizon will carry the handset, as evidenced by the carrier ID.

Only one run-through of the test was performed, resulting in a score of 48.20. The Droid RAZR uses a PowerVR SGX540 graphics core that would be consistent with the TI processor. It's expected to support Verizon's LTE-based 4G network and ship in time for the holidays.

At the same time, Motorola has secured the MotorolaRAZR.com domain name, after seven years of the brand being on sale. The electronics maker employed the Corporation Service Company (CSC) to get the website address. While it's not known how Motorola acquired the domain from its previous owner, it's likely it paid the owner an up-front sum.

DroidRAZR.com was also registered in mid-September, though the owner isn't Motorola either. Rumors suggest Motorola will combine its Droid and RAZR brands and have both adorn a single device or a line of devices in the future. [via Droid-Life and Fusible]
