Accessories: Belkin intros two new iPad 2 Snap Shield cases

updated 10:40 pm EDT, Wed September 28, 2011

Both designed to work with Apple's Smart Cover

Building on the success of its original Snap Shield back cover for the iPad 2, Belkin today added two new cases to its Snap Shield lineup, both of which -- like the original -- are designed to complement Apple's own Smart Cover. The Snap Shield Secure is a thin, translucent backing that simply snaps on, while the Emerge 024 offers lightweight protection with color options.

The Snap Shield Secure ($40) is a snap-on backing that uses its translucent design to show off the iPad's design elements, and includes an integrated steel strip that can be used to hold the Smart Cover flat against the case when it is folded back. The soft-touch material protects the back of the iPad without adding bulk, and is available in clear, Apple pink and smoke.

The Emerge 024 ($40) goes for style and fashion but still provides protection. Four colored inserts and a perforated back offer a choice of tone and match the shades of the Smart Cover. It also features a soft-touch finish and snaps seamlessly onto the back of the iPad 2.

Both cases come with a one-year limited warranty, and are now available either directly from Belkin or on Amazon.com.
