Trims size of HTML and CSS files
Adobe has posted a new beta release of Muse, its upcoming web design tool. The software is unusual in targeting graphic designers, allowing them craft websites without actually writing any code or operating within limited templates. Muse beta 3 is said to include over 40 bugfixes and other improvements.
The biggest of these is a reduction in the size of generated HTML and CSS files, which should be as much as 60 percent smaller. As a consequence, websites should also load faster. Aiding the rendering and load times are tweaks to the output of JavaScript for widgets like menus and tabs.
Muse users should be prompted to install beta 3 automatically the next time they open beta 2. To take advantage of any code optimizations, though, a website must be republished. Muse's beta period should end in early 2012.
