Netflix angers customers again

Netflix has angered its customers for the second time in recent months. On this occasion, the company has raised the ire of its customer base for suddenly removing titles that are no longer available for streaming from their Instant Queue lists. Although Netflix says that it will restore titles should they become available for streaming again, customers have used the company's blog to express anger at the decision, particularly as it was made without warning.

Further, customers are angered that because they were not given warning, they couldn't, for example, move titles from their Instant Queue lists to their DVD list so that they could at least obtain the physical titles in lieu of the ability to stream them. As some lists were quite long, it is impossible for customers to recall the various titles that they had added over time.

Netflix issued this statement on the matter on the company's blog:

"Why did we do this? We heard from our members that the list of unavailable titles complicates use of the instant Queue. And given the dynamic nature of our catalog that list can get long over time. So this change is intended to make the instant Queue easier to manage - by removing the inactive titles."

Customers have called on Netflix to restore their lists so that they can make alternative arrangements. It is not known if Netflix intends on rethinking its approach on the matter.

The latest customer relations blunder comes after a sudden increase in its monthly subscription fees, which was then followed by the loss of its contract with Starz, the publisher of content from major studios including Sony Pictures and Disney.
