El Paso store begins filling in large gap
At least two new Apple Stores are set to open this Saturday, checks confirm. The first is a Jungfernstieg location in Hamburg, Germany, which will represent the first time Apple has built more than one outlet per city in the country. Reports originally called for the shop to debut on the 10th, but the opening may simply have been delayed a week, for whatever reason.
In the United States Apple is launching a Cielo Vista Mall location in El Paso, Texas. The store is significant for two reasons, the first being Apple's attempt at filling in a US coverage gap which previously extended from Tuscon to San Antonio and as far north as Albuquerque. The shop is also only Apple's second along the Mexican border; the country still has no physical Apple Stores of its own, making the El Paso and Chula Vista, California outlets the best options if not going with a reseller or Apple's local online storefront.
