Harman puts Slacker Radio in car audio, Aha's iPhone app

Harman car audio with Aha to get Slacker streams

Harman brought Slacker Radio streaming into cars for the first time late Thursday by tying it into its Aha Radio system. The system will let in-dash car systems, aftermarket and otherwise, tune into both the regular radio stream and on-demand Premium services as long as they have an Internet connection. Other devices supporting Aha will get the option as well.

The support is being woven into the iPhone app (free, App Store; update soon) and Android, although this isn't necessary for those who just want to route audio from an existing smartphone with Slacker to the car's audio system.

Along with aftermarket stereos, Harman is promising "integrations" with official car stereo systems sometime in 2012. Individual car markers weren't named, although any firm will need to carry 3G or 4G in the car.
