Sprint makes Kyocera Milano, Brio official

Last week's leak of two Kyocera handsets coming to Sprint this Friday have been confirmed by the carrier on Thursday. The Kyocera Milano and Brio will be entry-level devices with a focus on texting using hardware QWERTY keyboards. While the Milano's will be a sliding one, the Brio's is a fixed candybar. The Milano alone runs on Android 2.3 and is the more advanced of the two.

The Milano also gets a touchscreen and Swype text input. It otherwise has a 3.2-megapixel camera with video capability, 512MB of storage space. and a bundled 2GB microSD memory card. Although cheap, it has Wi-Fi hotspot support as well for up to five devices, though this requires Sprint's usual $30 per month fee.

The Milano will cost $50 with a two-year voice and data contract and after a $50 mail-in reward card rebate.

The Kyocera Brio runs on Java and uses a 192MHz processor. It also sports a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and can send e-mails or browse the web. There is no built-in storage for users, but it can be added thanks to a microSD memory card slot.

It will be available for free after a mail-in rebate and on a two-year contract.
