Sony Ericsson Nozomi could focus on HD screen

Sony Ericsson's flagship smartphone for 2012, the Nozomi, may have been detailed through a rumor with unusually detailed specifications. It may have one of the highest-resolution screens to date with a 720p (1280x720) resolution fitting into a 4.3-inch screen not much bigger than that on the Xperia arc S. Accordingly, it would run the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android and could achieve Retina Display-level graphics while scrapping hardware navigation buttons.

A 12-megapixel Exmor R camera would produce a 50 percent jump in image size over Sony Ericsson's current Android phones and would be mated to 32GB of built-in memory. Performance would be at least on par with other phones due at the same time with a dual-core 1.5GHz chip, possibly the TI OMAP 4460 that might be the baseline for Ice Cream Sandwich. About 1GB of RAM and a 1,750mAh battery are its other suspected components. Sony Ericsson could be one of the first smartphone makers outside of Apple to embrace micro SIM cards.

If accurate, the Nozomi will be unveiled in January, most likely at CES, with an actual release in March. [via Phone Arena]
