Sharp Japan shows 70-inch Aquos 3D LCD TV

Sharp Japan just introduced a new 70-inch Aquos LCD TV, the LC-70XS, for its home market. The set sports an above average 15,000,000:1 contrast ratio with according brightness and is LED-backlit. Its 240Hz panel displays 1080p content and can also show 3D images with active shutter glasses.

The LC-70XS is THX-certified and gets two speakers and a small, integrated subwoofer that gets 15W of power. Users can record TV programs to a connected USB drive or hard drive, and the set is DLNA compatible for sharing media as well. Analogue terrestrial broadcasts, Internet video and video from external inputs cannot be recorded, however. Two simultaneous programs can be recorded while a third is being watched as there are three tuners.

When the set ships or what it will cost remains unspecified, however.
