Samsung Slate PC 7 gets WiMAX, Core i5, SSD

Samsung is showing off a new tablet PC over at the IFA show in Berlin, the Slate PC Series 7. Borrowing the name from the company's recently introduced Series 7 notebooks, the tablets sport Windows 7 rather than Android. The 11.6-inch devices also get a choice of Core i3, Core i5 or Pentium processors, as well as 4GB of RAM.

The tablets have WiMAX and HSPA+ radios in addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. USB inputs, a microSD slot, a gigabit Ethernet port and an HDMI output are present as well. Users get either 32GB or 64GB solid-state drives for storage. There is a three-megapixel camera in the back and a two-megapixel shooter in the front.

The battery life is claimed at seven hours. Finally, the tablets are still considerably bulkier than most Android tablets and the iPad, at about 1.9lbs and half an inch thick.

Release dates and prices are yet to be announced. [via Pocket-lint]
