Facebook f8 invites go out for September 22 event

Facebook has began sending out invitations to its f8 developer conference scheduled for September 22 in San Francisco. The full-day event will host feature keynotes outlining the social network's new tools and practices for developers, officially. What is expected is more details and official reveals regarding the planned Spotify music integration and the iPad app.

The Facebook music platform for Spotify and other services, if accurate, will be accessible through a link expected to show up in the left-hand column of the site. It will open a new tab called Music, and clicking this will open a new page called Music Dashboard. Listeners could use it to tune Spotify without having to leave Facebook on a specific page.

The native Facebook iPad app was recently discovered hidden in the iPhone app and mostly provides a much larger canvas for the social network with multiple panes. It may give access to GPS for check-ins and the camera for uploading photos. [via GigaOM]
