Sprint to get BlackBerry Curve 9350 on September 9 for $80

updated 12:10 pm EDT, Tue August 23, 2011

BlackBerry Curve 9350 coming to Sprint for $80

The BlackBerry Curve 9350, officially revealed by RIM earlier on Tuesday, will be coming to Sprint on September 9 and cost $80 on a new two-year contract. This will be after a $50 mail-in rebate issued in the form of a gift card. Sprint's business customers may be eligible to get the handset for $50 with an eligible upgrade or a new one- or two-year contract, and after the same $50 mail-in card rebate.

The handset runs on BlackBerry 7 and has NFC support built-in. Sprint's 9350 will ship with a 2GB microSD memory card. There is 512MB of RAM in the handset, along with a five-megapixel camera with flash, zoom and 720p video capture. RIM preloads DataViz's Documents To Go Premium suite, letting users read and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are part of the specs as well.

BlackBerry 7 adds voice-activated search to the Universal Search feature in BlackBerry 6. Personal and corporate content is also separated thanks to BlackBerry Balance, and performance should get an uptick both through the 800MHz processor and support for hardware graphics acceleration across the whole interface.

BlackBerry Curve 9350 owners on Sprint need to activate an Everything Data plan for $70 along with a $10 Premium Data add-on charge for smartphones.
