HP's PC head Todd Bradley may quit for CEO spot elsewhere

HP may take big PC blow with exec VP Bradley

A rumor Monday suggested HP could face another serious hit to its PC business beyond the possible spinoff. Its executive VP for the Personal Systems Group, Todd Bradley, has reportedly been interviewing for "every CEO job he can." The maneuver is believed by BGR to represent Bradley's frustration with being passed over for HP's CEO in favor of the outsider Leo Apotheker.

The sources added that Bradley supposedly hadn't been recruited due to "somewhat excessive" personal conditions on his hiring. What those might be weren't given, nor was whether he already had these at HP.

With that in mind, the executive may still be loyal enough to negotiate one last major deal. He is supposedly aiming for an "incredibly large" deal that could eclipse the $10 billion buyout of Autonomy this summer. Its details are a mystery, although it's not expected to be the spinoff. Bradley helped orchestrate the buyout of Palm and, while ultimately a failure, beat out other major companies in getting the deal.

A departure by Bradley could be dangerous for HP's PCs. Much of its lead in PC sales has been under Bradley's leadership and might change direction under a new leader. If he leaves before a spinoff, it could leave either a separate or sold-off company without its central management.

    Political aspirations?

He's led HP into a temporary bubble that's about to crash and burst into a horrible s*******. Sounds like a perfect candidate for a Republican politician.

Not only him but others too.

No enterprise buyer in their right mind would make an order for any HP product now, and nobody buying one now should expect much from software updates or support.

The HP brand is damaged right now. Thanks goodness I sold HP as soon as the new CEO Leo Apotheker took over. SAP experience and HP are not compatible at all.

Would you, as business owner, trust any consulting advice or service coming out of HP?

What was and is the HP board smoking?

The Company is in liquidation right now. A Federal investigation is now in order.
