HTC files trademarks for Enamor, Rhyme

updated 01:05 pm EDT, Wed August 17, 2011

Early stage in releasing new smartphone or tablet

HTC has filed for trademark protection for two names with the USPTO. The company submitted two applications each for Enamor and Rhyme. If granted, the names could be used on either a mobile phone or tablet, HTC said in its categorizations.

It would be several months before HTC would be able to introduce a device carrying either of the names. The first step would be a review by a USPTO attorney in about three months.

Both are likely to be names for core devices in HTC's 2012 lineup. It often introduces a new wave of hardware in Feburary at Mobile World Congress and brings it to the rest of the world in the next few months afterwards. [via fusible]
